Shari Thompson

Shari Thompson

Owner

Shari comes back to Frankfort after a 30 year hiatus in New York. Her love for her hometown and for the Bluegrass state couldn’t keep her away any longer – it was time to come home.

Shari has been involved in fitness and wellness her entire life. In the late 80’s she was the owner and director of a dance studio and aerobics studio. Until her move back to Frankfort, Shari was co-owner of Yoga Life in Port Washington, NY.

After 22 years in corporate finance in New York City, Shari realized it was time to make a change. Her love for yoga had been developing for several years as a student and then with her leaving the rat race of the corporate world she decided to take it to the next step. In 2005 Shari was certified as a Vinyasa yoga teacher by the OM Yoga Center of New York City. Shortly following her extensive yoga training, she opened, with her partners, Yoga Life.

Shari is proud and honored to be back in Frankfort and to have the opportunity to offer yoga to the community. My Old Kentucky OM Yoga Center is a true sanctuary for everyone, whether you are a first timer or a seasoned yogi you will feel welcomed the second you walk through the door.

My Old Kentucky OM, is your My Old Kentucky Yoga Home!!

Rhett Fulkerson

Rhett Fulkerson

Instructor

Rhett first tried yoga, via video, almost 20 years ago with an intent to increase his mobility for rock climbing – it worked. Rhett became interested in the yoga and continued his practice as a student. In 2012 he decided to take it to the next step and began attending regular yoga classes, where his love for this ancient practice grew.

In 2017 Rhett received his certification from White Crow Yoga in Nashville, TN. He got his certification originally for his own benefit of mental and physical well-being, but soon realized he wanted to share yoga and its many benefits with others. Rhett began teaching at various venues in and around the Frankfort area and has become one of the most popular teachers in the community.

Chrissy Madjar

Chrissy Madjar

Instructor

Chrissy is a yogi, a cancer-thriver, and amputee. After losing her left leg to a rare bone cancer when she was 8 years old, Chrissy has never let her prosthetic get in the way of adventure. She loves being outdoors and remaining active. Chrissy found yoga as a stress reliever during college and law school, when she needed calm and grounding the most. It wasn’t until she moved to Nashville in 2014 that she found her passion for Vinyasa yoga and committed to becoming a yoga teacher. Despite some setbacks that dream, six years in the making, came to fruition in Summer 2020 when she completed her 200 Yoga Teacher Training with Awakening Yoga Academy in Seattle, Washington. She is continuing her yoga education, working towards a certification in trauma yoga so she can work with trauma-specific populations.
